The much-anticipated Changi Airport Connector, HUB & SPOKE and Changi Jurassic Mile are now officially open!
As part of the launch on 11 Oct 2020, our Guest-of-Honour Minister for Transport Mr Ong Ye Kung − accompanied by CAG CEO Mr Lee Seow Hiang and invited guests from the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), Land Transport Authority (LTA) and National Parks Board (NParks) – cycled from East Coast Park to the start of Jurassic Mile. There, Minister launched the attraction amidst cheers
and applause. The group then journeyed on to the HUB & SPOKE pit stop facility where they toured the venue and tucked into a light brunch.
The launch marks the end of three years of work on the Changi Airport Connector, which was conceived in 2017. While allowing staff living nearby to get to and from work easily, it also encourages healthy living among the airport community, with the track and space providing an outdoor place to exercise after work. The public and, in future, tourists will get to enjoy the scenic outdoors of Changi Airport as they run or cycle between Changi Airport and our city and heartlands.
At Changi Jurassic Mile, the idea for a dinosaur habitat was inspired by the area’s fences, tall trees and greenery.
The exhibits dot a 1km-long stretch of the track. Sandwiched between the airport perimeter fence and Tanah Merah Country Club, the site offers visitors a refreshing outdoor experience as they enter the airport segment of the track. At night, specially-curated lights shine on the dinosaur exhibits, giving visitors a different feel of the space.
